Two families in different Locations (Kavyuli and Kiumo) in Machakos County on Tuesday sent-off their children in an emotional service following the Garissa terror attack.
Mutua Nzomo a second year student from Kavyuli Village and Faith Mutanu Kilonzo an undergraduate student pursuing education from Kiumo Village were given their last respects after brutal Al-Shabaab terrorists cut short their lives.
Speaking during the funeral service in Kiumo, Mwala County Commissioner Florence Amoeit who sent condolences messages to the family on behalf of President Uhuru Kenyatta, condemned the killings that left 147 youths dead.
County Commissioner Amoeit further assured the area residents that the government is taking measures to beef up security.
“We have lost promising souls and on behalf of our president, I bring message of condolence to the affected families. I understand how hard time this is for parents who had invested a lot of money and hope, but I assure you that the terrorists will not go scots free,” said Commissioner Amoeit.
Present during the funeral was also the former Mwala Member of Parliament (MP) Pastor Daniel Muoki who called upon the parents to take heart and believe in God’s healing.
He further stated that the terrorists who carried out the massacre should believe in God and repent.
“As Kenyans we should continue praying for those who killed innocent lives to repent and surrender before God and the government. They will not go unpunished for shedding innocent blood and cutting short so many lives,” said Muoki.
