A Machakos court on Thursday directed a woman whose daughter was defiled last year March 7 to produce her in court failure to which she will be jailed.
Machakos Resident Magistrate Yusuf Shikanda ordered the victim's mother Elizabeth Mbithi to produce the minor in court.
Shikanda said the victim should appear in court to testify in the case.
However, Mbithi told the court that the rape suspect Reuben Okot Ndubi had been threatening the family since he was released from police custody on bond.
She said the family is living in fear and are doubting whether they will find justice in court.
The magistrate told her to comply with the court order and produce the daughter in court in the next hearing.
"The case has been adjourned for several times because the victim has failed to appear in court, obey the court and bring her in the next hearing," ruled the magistrate.
Shikanda told the family to report threats to police officers to deal with the suspect.
The hearing of the case was set to be on May 8, 2018.
