Machakos County Deputy Governor Engineer Francis Maliti together with members of the Machakos County Assembly has embarked on a two-day prayer campaign as they seek to put the Country in prayers before a repeat of the Presidential elections.
Maliti accompanied different church leaders within Machakos County as they converged at Aic Machakos Church for a two-day prayer session.
Maliti who spoke to the congregation after the prayer service said that residents should not be incited to violence or hate speech but should embrace peace before and after the repeat of the Presidential elections.
"We need to come together as leaders and as Kenyans and preach peace. Let us refrain from making inciting statements that lead to violence, one Kenya one people," said Maliti.
Maliti further urged residents to vote peacefully and to elect a leader who will bring social developments.
It's only a few days remaining before the Presidential elections are held pitting President Uhuru Kenyatta of Jubilee political party and National Super Alliance party leader Raila Odinga.
