A middle-aged-woman who is expectant has been involved in an accident on the Machakos Wote road.
The accident which occurred on Thursday is reported to have occurred when a tuktuk collided with the bodaboda.
Confirming the incident, the chair-person of bodaboda operators association in Machakos town, Allan Musembi, claimed that the tuktuk was overlapping when the accidents happened.
“I was informed that one of the association members had been involved in an accident. I have confirmed that he had a passenger on board who was expectant and she sustained injuries on her right hand,” said Musembi.
However some other operators intervened immediately and took the woman to Machakos Level-5 hospital for treatment and check-up.
“Some of the bodaboda drivers came in immediately and took the woman to the hospital and the doctors have said she is in stable condition. I thank the operators for the cooperation,” said Musembi.
The bodaboda operator sustained several injuries and has also been taken to Machakos Level-5 hospital.
According to Musembi, the tuktuk owner escaped after the incident as the public was furious with him for hitting an expectant woman.
Police officers from Machakos police station are still searching for the man.
The unfortunate accident occurred near Bishop Kioko hospital.
