Since her husband ascended in power, she has stayed clear of politics and instead, she has been running up and down the whole country distributing mobile clinics and raising funds to help women deliver safely in hospitals.

She has even come up with First lady's half marathon to raise funds towards the same.

This year's first lady's half marathon took place on March 6, 2016.The Marathon,which attracted thousands of participants including Machakos county first lady Lilian Nganga, was a huge success.

Prior to participating in the half marathon, Machakos first lady had donated money to boost the same.

Earlier, before the marathon, Lilian had visited Alfalah children's home in Machakos in a bid to support orphans and vulnerable children.

She does not want to be left behind so she is also trying her best to leave a legacy.

She has supported many welfare programs in the area including Machakos county children's welfare program.
