Speaking during the Machakos Governorship debate, Mutua said that his political outfit, Maendeleo Chap Chap not only has numbers but also high acceptance rate among the people of this region as well as the entire nation.

“We are the third largest party in this country,” Mutua said. The county boss added: “The party has a high level of acceptance.”

Mutua, who is defending his seat on Maendeleo Chap Chap also noted that Wiper might be dominant in other regions but not Machakos as many have been saying.

"Wiper does not have a wave in Machakos,” he stated.

The governor has been accusing Kalonzo and other leaders of the Wiper of frustrating him since he took over power. He argues that the leaders started fighting him from the first day he was elected into power.

He has, however, assured his supporters that he will beat his competitors hands down when that time comes. During the debate, he took a swipe at Former Kathaini MP Wavinya Ndeti and Machakos Deputy Governor Bernard Kiala for failing to attend the event.
