[Photo: Kalonzo Musyoka]A section of Machakos residents have raised questions over the missing of area senator Johnston Muthama, during Nasa rally, Monday.Muthama who has had differences with Ukambani kingpin and Nasa presidential running mate Kalonzo Musyoka, once said he would not support Kalonzo but would support Nasa, in quest to form Kenya's fifth government. This is after Wiper party whose leader is Kalonzo, chose Wavinya Ndeti as Machakos governor aspirant, and not Machakos deputy governor Bernard Kiala, the way Muthama wanted.During the rally, Kalonzo explained to supporters that Muthama was engaged with the planning of Nasa campaigns, hence his missing from the rally that was attended by hundreds of supporters. However, during an interview Tuesday, most locals in Machakos town who suppor Kalonzo, were worried. They said Kalonzo used his explanation as a cover up, to hide the differences between him and Muthama."What we know, is that Muthama clearly stated he does not support Kalonzo because of Wavinya Ndeti's gubernatorial bid in Wiper. He should have told us the truth. Muthama is so important to us and we need him," said Peter Musila."Kalonzo and Muthama should settle their differences since they're all important to us. Nasa and Machakos should not suffer because of the two. Let them settle their differences," added Purity Kioko.
