Speaking on Wednesday in Machakos level-5, the county Health CeC Naomi Mutie confirmed that the two hospitals had been chosen to be equipped in the state plan.

The plan is aimed at equipping two hospitals in all the 47 counties, with latest equipments to enhance medical care.

Mutie was addressing the press during the County project that will see Kepsa provide the public hospitals with medicines.

“In our County, Machakos level 5 and Kangundo District hospital have been selected in a project that will ensure provision of modern equipments for surgical procedures, kidney dialysis, intensive care facilities, ultra sound and imaging, digital X-rays and surgical theatres,” she said.

“We thank our president Uhuru Kenyatta for launching such a critical project,” she added.

Mutie also mentioned several other hospitals in Eastern that will benefit from the same project from the neighboring Counties of Machakos.

“In Kitui County, Kitui and Mwingi hospitals will benefit from the same project, while in Makueni County, Makueni and Makindu hospitals have been selected to be equipped with similar facilities,” she added.

This comes barely a week after president Uhuru Kenyatta launched the Sh380 billion plans on Saturday that is aimed at equipping 94 hospitals country-wide in a span of ten years.
