The County government of Machakos and the County government of Kericho signed an Inter-County Cooperation Agreement, Wednesday.
The two Counties recognise their mutual desire to establish relations with each other which will support, complement, strengthen and extend cooperation between them.
Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua said the Counties had resolved to consolidate, strengthen and diversify the trade relations between them to full extent of their growing capacity.
He said this would meet each other's requirements on the basis of mutual benefit.
"Both Counties have resolved to jointly contribute to the sustainable economic development in their counties," said Dr Mutua during the signing of the agreement, at the County headquarters.
The agreement broadly covers areas of trade cooperation; trade facilitation and promotion; elimination of trade barriers, elimination of all forms unfair trade practices and illegal trade which may exist in their counties and the establishment of a joint trade committee.
Present during the signing ceremony was governor Mutua, Kericho County's Paul Chepkwony, County officers from the two Counties among others.
