A lawyer from Machokos County was on Wednesday arraigned before a Machakos Court to answer to charges of rape.The court heard Musyoka Mbithi Kimeu committed the crime on September 10, 2017, at Rendezvous Bar and Restaurant in Machakos town.On the material date, the court heard that the accused had intercourse with the complainant without her consent.Mbithi is also facing a second charge of committing an indecent act with an adult.He, however, denied both the charges before Machokos Senior Principal Magistrate Caroline Ocharo and filed an application to be released on bail pending the next case hearing.Magistrate Ocharo granted the application and ordered Mbithi be released on a cash bail of Sh50,000, The Star has reported.Hearing of the case is set for January 31, 2018.
