A section of political leaders drawn from the opposition NASA, have urged voters in Machakos County to boycott presidential repeat polls scheduled for Thursday.

Led by Machakos gubernatorial candidate, Wavinya Ndeti and County Assembly Majority Leader, Francis Ngunga, the leaders also vowed to mount voter boycott campaigns starting today until coming Wednesday, the election eve.

The leaders who addressed the press at a hotel in Mlolongo declared Ukambani a NASA zone and urged residents not to turn out for the scheduled exercise on November 26th.

"What we are telling our people across the region is they should make November 26th a family day. They should keep away from polling centers and go about their businesses because what we have is not a national election, but a partisan exercise," said Mr Ngunga

His sentiments were echoed by Wavinya, who urged both President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA presidential candidate, Raila Odinga to dialogue in order to end the political stalemate in the country.

"Both Uhuru and Raila must agree and inform Kenyans on the way forward or this country could deteriorate to anarchy," said the former Kathiani legislator.
