Macharia during his visit on Tuesday confirmed that the government has set aside Sh38 billion to improve health care services in 93 hospitals in the 47 counties of the country.

He said that the 93 hospital including Machakos level five will be refurbished to be on the same level with global hospitals in the developed countries.

“This hospital among the 93 others which will be refurbished should be on the same level not just like Nairobi hospital, Agha Khan or MP Shah but the best hospitals globally,” Macharia said.

Macharia also noted that great developments in the country will be achieved countrywide if county governments will work hand in hand with the national govt.

He therefore urged county government officials including the governors to be committed and proactive to serve the people.

Machakos level 5 hospital apart from benefiting from the government’s project is expected to be upgraded to a referral hospital.

Machakos County Governor Dr Alfred Mutua who accompanied the cabinet secretary has promised that the county government will change the face of the hospital by decorating its buildings.

“In addition to making it a referral hospital because of equipments, we are also modernising the hospital. We will change all the walls in the hospital,” said Mutua.

Mutua has said that the hospital will be an ultramodern hospital.
