Machakos Matatu Sacco’s representatives today (Friday) paid Deputy Governor Francis Maliti a courtesy at his office. The second in command at the county level later took to social media to share the new development. He, however, did not disclose the details of the brief meeting he held with them. He posted a photo and captioned.

“With Machakos Matatu Sacco’s representatives when they paid me a courtesy call at our office in Mavoko.

The visit of the representatives comes a day after the High Court Judge Chacha Mwita suspended the ban ahead of the hearing of a case filed by Activist Okiya Omtatah. According to the court, the ban is contrary to article 232(1)(f) of the Constitution.

“The ban on night travel contravenes articles 28 and 29(1), respectively, on human dignity, and on freedom and security of the person,“ read part of the petition.

The ban on night travel had affected transport services across the nation. Travelers from different parts of the nation were finding it hard reaching their destination because of increased fares following the ban.
