A section of Members of Machakos County Assembly have been accused of being uncooperative to leadership of Machakos County government and depriving their electorates development projects they deserve.
Addressing members of the public at a forum in Mlolongo town on Saturday, Jeremiah Muoka, Director Administration and Planning in the County Government of Machakos said the leader’s bad blood with the executive seriously affected the public.
Muoka argued that residents within jurisdictions of MCAs who have refused to work together with leadership of the County government were bound to miss reasonable developmental projects.
He disclosed that there were a number of MCAs who were not rendering meaningful services to the public due to petty politics.
The director said the situation had gone to extreme such that certain MCAs had refused to check in the county government offices to pick bursaries meant for their wards for disbursements.
"There are several ward bursary cheques lying in county executive offices because some members of county assemblies have refused to pick them,'' said Muoka.
He called on such leaders to ignore their political differences with county leadership and work closely with the county's systems for the interest of those they represent.
