Angela Munyasya nominated Machakos MCA has refuted the notion that Machakos is a rich county saying that it is a fallacy working to the disadvantage of their people.
The MCA who was speaking to residents in Ngolimba on Wednesday said much of the help meant for the County is being diverted to other counties as the county is regarded as rich."Our County requires a lot of help especially in the education sector which we are asking the National Government to increase funding," said Munyasya. She noted that poverty in the area is also real."We have had poor citizens and families here in Ngolimba that need upgrading. Others are living in abject poverty but are likely to be ignored if we continue buying the idea that the county is rich," the MCA added. She has also appealed to the State to increase the number of special schools for the disabled."The existing special schools are overstretched and we need to have more of them," she said. She at the same time asked the youths to shun drugs.
