(Photo/Cyprian Muthoka/hivisasa.com)Machakos County government through deputy Governor Francis Maliti has partnered with South Korea government to clean the Polluted Athi River.The Korean Ministry of Environment is currently carrying out studies on River Athi with a view to eradicating pollution that has greatly affected it. The team is also set to carry out monitoring studies on the river’s fluctuating levels to see the viability of dams in the future. Maliti who was speaking as he met the representative from Korea government said that the studies are being carried out on the river’s entire flow within Machakos county."We shall be partnering with them as well as other organizations currently striving to clean the river", said Maliti.The County deputy Governor added that they are in the process of curbing the cholera outbreak menace by ensuring that residents get access to clean water.The Athi river cleaning process is set to begin on Thursday and will go for a period of three weeks according to Maliti.
