Machakos County Government partners with Strathmore University School of Business in Small and Medium Enterprises (SmE) entrepreneurial training and networking program in equipping them with relevant skills for economic growth.

Strathmore University plans to start an Entrepreneurial Academy in Machakos that will help residents understand how to start and grow small and medium businesses.

According to Chief Officer in Strathmore School of Business Alex Gathongo, speaking during the one day SmE business training held in Machakos town, said it was vital for business people to be equipped with relevant skills which will enable them realize profits not losses in their investments.

“That is why Strathmore will partner with Machakos County to help young entrepreneurs grow,” he said.

He also said entrepreneurs need role models to emulate what is right and that is where the Academy will come in bring other entrepreneurs who can assist the young enterprises.

“Strathmore plans to be the leading University in Africa and the whole world in Business training and we cannot grow alone, that is why we want to bring every entrepreneur on board,” Gathongo said.
