Police in Machakos have launched search for killers of a middle aged man whose body was found dumped on roadside Monday morning.

According to the police, the man could have been killed elsewhere and the body dumped on the roadside.

County deputy commander Joshue Ole Leina told journalists at his office on Monday that the body of the 44-year-old man was found by school children early Monday morning.

He said the body had no visible injuries adding that the man could have been murdered elsewhere.

“We have launched investigations into the matter. The man's body was found on Monday morning along the Machakos-Wote road,” he said.

The deputy commander stated that an Identification Card (ID) and an empty wallet were found on the deceased body.

Leina has asked any person with information that will to arrest of the suspects involved to share it with the police.

He added that police are o high alert and will mercilessly deal with anyone found engaging in crime. The officer said that patrols will be intensified in a move he added that will help weed out criminals.

The body of the deceased was taken to Machakos Level Five hospital for post-mortem examination.
