Politicians from Machakos County and in extension, the entire Ukambani region have been cautioned against politicizing Governor Alfred Mutua's inter-counties' bench marking tours.
Tala MCA Alex Kamitu slammed the politicians stating that the governor's intention is to bring development to Machakos County.
Kamitu said Mutua's trips to different various countries across the country is in a bid of borrowing a leaf on how to effectively govern and develop his own county.
He addressed the press after attending a fundraiser at Mang'auni Catholic Church at Matungulu in Machakos County on Sunday.
"The governor went to Nyeri and Kakamega Counties to see how things are done in order to see which projects to adopt," Kamitu said.
Kamitu said some politicians are taking advantage of the governor's tour to seek political mileage.
He said the tours are for the county's good hence leaders should wait for the outcome rather than criticizing the governor's trips without reason.
For the past two weeks, Governor Mutua has been on a bench marking tour to Nyeri and Kakamega counties.
However, the trips have stirred controversy among politicians from Machakos County including a section of MCAs from the Machakos County Assembly who asked him to come back and nominate his ministers.
Kamitu told the Treasury to release funds meant for county governments' disbursement to enable implementation of various projects that have been passed at the assembly.
