Machakos county governor Dr Alfred Mutua has revealed that 15 out of 30 health centers in his county are the best health centers in Kenya in providing the right environment, processes and treatment of patients.
Mutua spoke this at his county on November 3, during the launch of the new look health center across Machakos county where he accompanied the county's first lady Lilian Ng'ang'a.
The governor also said that the state of health centers his government inherited was despicable. "Most had no toilets for patients and staff, no waiting bays, confused card systems, dirty consulting rooms and horrible wards with sagging beds and even blood-soaked bedding. The environment was such that one would most likely contract a new disease from the health facility when one went in for treatment," said Mutua congratulating Lillian for volunteering to oversee the project hence ensuring quality in achievement with few resources.
Mutua assured Machakos residents that his government had put in place systems to ensure the quality is maintained and services improved every day.
