Machakos town residents have pleaded with the county government to save them from blocked drainage systems menace.
Speaking on April 27 they said that the ongoing heavy rains have been a threat to them as they walk through stagnant water which they fear can subject them to waterborne diseases such cholera.
"Through operating business in the town, I suffer a lot. I incur great losses as my customers can't walk through water to reach my shop.I therefore call upon our MCA and governor Mutua to take action and save us from the menace,"Kaveke, a shop keep said.
"As Machakos town residents we don't need to suffer all these. Drainage systems got blocked a week ago and we have been waiting for action to be taken. We need help,"said another resident.
