Machakos residents have been asked to give their views on the proposed 11.4 billion budgetary allocations for the 2015-2016 Financial year.
County Assembly Budget chairman Isaac Muinde says that the county has organized public forums to enable residents give their views.
“In the next one week the county government will be carrying out public forums to get views of the people on budget,” he said when he addressed the press on Monday at County offices.
Mr Muinde said it is a constitutional requirement for the public to be engaged in budget making.
The budget chairman said that budgetary allocations to various dockets has been completed and will soon be tabled in the County Assembly
Speaking at Machakos Level Five Hospital last week, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua said that a huge chunk of 11.4 billion proposed budget will go to development projects.
Mutua cited health, agriculture, water and early childhood education as the dockets likely
He added that the County intends to finalize on all development projects before the 2017 general elections.
