After the release of the controversial Kikuyu song ‘Ikamba', leaders mostly from the Kamba community have come out to condemn the song vehemently calling for speedy arrests of the artists.
However, the Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has kept mum concerning the issue thus raising eyebrows among residents.
In an interview conducted by Hivisasa, Machakos residents are riled up with Mutua's silence over the issue and want him to give his opinion on the same.
“We elected Governor Mutua to serve us and speak on our behalf, why is he silent on this issue when our community's dignity is being smeared with dirt," a businessman in Matuu town Onesmus Musyoka said.
Another local, Sally Mueni, a Saloonist in Machakos town said the governor's silence could be an indication that he has no concern to the Kamba community or he is afraid of denouncing the people who gave him a wife.
“How will he lead us in 2022 if he cant address such a mere issue or is he afraid of criticizing his in-laws," Mueni said.
The controversial ‘Ikamba' song by one Wakahara ft Isaiah has raised concerns among members of the Kamba community who have called for justice.
Makueni senator has officially written to the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) demanding for thorough probe into the matter.
