Masinga Sub-County residents on Monday engaged in a heated debate over their county's 2014-2015 budget report.
They complained that the Machakos County governor has failed to fulfil his promise of constructing better roads in the county.
Lead by Kivaa Member of County Assembly, Aex Nzambu, residents lamented that the money allocated to roads and transport were not distributed and accounted for clearly.
Speaking during a forum at Masinga Salvation Army on Monday, Nzambu condemned the department of road and infrastructure for abandoning the roads in the region.
“Most of the roads in the sub county are in bad condition," said Nzambu.
He singled out Matuu-Ekalakala road and Kivandini Masinga roads which he said are in dire need.
The county government had put aside Sh2.9 billion for roads development.
Nzambu urged the county government to set a side funds to purchase seeds in 2015-2016 budget; the seeds will be distributed to farmers in the ongoing planting season.
Such forum were held in different parts of Machakos County.
In Matungulu Sub-County it was held in AIC Tala while in Kangundo Sub-County the discussions were held in Kakuyuni AIC.
In Matungulu Sub-County the residents called upon the government to complete the development projects that were begun in the previous financial year. They include hospitals, schools and Tala trading centre.
