A section of Kyevaluki residents in Kangundo sub-county have congratulated their county government on the construction of poorly constructed roads in the area.
The residents had presented their petition for reconstruction of the roads earlier last year.
According to Paul Mutinda, a bodaboda rider operating between Kyevaluki through Kakuyuni to Kangundo, the roads have made him incur a lot of losses when it comes to the maintenance of his bike.
Another resident, Christine Kalee, who has a business in Kangundo town uses the road daily and said that she had seriously suffered in terms of fare which was always being hiked due to the deplorable state of the road.
‘‘At first, I used to pay sh100 to Kangundo town but as the road got worse, I began paying sh200 which is quite a lot for such a short distance.I hope now matatu owners will lower charges,’’ she said.
The residents thanked the county ministry of roads in the county for listening and acting on their grievances.
