A section of Machakos County residents have said that they are tired of endless fights between governor Alfred Mutua and Senator Johnson Muthama.
The frequent squabbles between the two has made the locals unhappy, who claim it has slowed down development in the county.
"What we expect is service delivery and each leader will be held squarely responsible for this mandate for which he was voted into office," said Timothy Muli, a Kangundo sub county resident.
According to Muli, Mutua has been giving false promises to the people of Machakos such as all roads will be tarmacked and each household will get piped water by 2017.
"What we have seen most is drama and a lot of publicity over the project but nothing much is going on towards that end," added Muli.
David Mutie, a resident of Matungulu sub county, blamed Senator Muthama of opposing nearly all activities by the governor.
"The reason why we have lagged behind is because Muthama has been working with some rogue officers in Mutua's administration with the aim of bringing the governor down," said Mutie.
Victor Mutua, a Machakos Town dweller, however said he had great hope in Mutua and Muthama that they can still bring change in the county by working together.
