With his little money and an all-volunteer staff, Jubilee senate aspirant Henry Kioko has shocked entire Ukambani by challenging Senator Muthama.
Speaking over the weekend at Mutituni Catholic Church on meeting the Deputy President William Ruto and other leaders, Kioko said that the people of Machakos are frustrated and angry.
“They are tired of politicians saying one thing and getting elected to office and completely forgetting about the same people that elected them. I want you to understand that we get it," he said.
Henry said election was about numbers, allies and the electorate needs. He refers his campaign to the Biblical David verses Goliath and promised to take an uncompromising approach to progressing Machakos citizens if elected.
The youthful progressive politician said he would work across with leaders and vowed to support Uhuru re-election.
“Starting with very little money five months ago, Kioko has overcome great odds and won the confidence of the electorate where few believed he could sustain,” said Jeremiah Kamia, former TNA coordinator Machakos.
“Kioko has won the hearts of the electorate because he understands the role of senate in progressing the lives of citizens, he has identified issues and already drafted bills aimed at improving citizens way of living. It will be interesting to watch such aggressive legislator in the next senate," he said.
Kioko said he has learned during his campaign trail that it’s about we the people. “The people of Machakos want change, and that’s what we are going to do.”
