Coalition for reform and democracy, Cord has selected Machakos senator Johnstone Muthama to join the team that will select the flag bearer as the party readies for 2017 general elections.
This came a day after the senator drummed support for Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka's presidential bid.
He was speaking in Matungulu sub-county where he urged the residents to rally behind Kalonzo, Mr Johnstone Muthama will join Siaya senator James Orengo and Tongaren member of parliament Eseli Simiyu to decide who will be the flag bearer amongst Cord co-principals Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula.
The three Cord co-principals have expressed interest in vying for the top seat.
The Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula had even erected a billboard advertising his presidential bid in Western while Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka had already launched his presidential campaign in Machakos town.
It appears like Johnstone Muthama has been selected to join the team so that he can present the interest of the Kamba people.
