Kioko was speaking Tuesday when he met women groups from Athi River at KMC. This comes a few days after the current senator declared that he will defend his seat in next year's general elections.

Henry has renewed calls to debate him on policy and legislation, oversight and leadership roles of the senate. Kioko insisted that it's rightful for the electorate to participate in the public debate to question on the performance of the incumbent as a public officer and set expectations for future senatorial candidates.

"The electorate must be involved in shaping the performance of future senatorial candidates," he said.

"It's reported that the incumbent spend five years in senate and has not even tabled a single bill. He has also been involved in questionable integrity issues and charged in court for incitement to violence. We must hold public officers to accountability as explained in chapter six of the constitution of Kenya," Kioko added.
