The Kenya Youth Climate Network has significantly contributed to reducing impacts of climate change in Machakos by participating in volunteer clean ups of Machakos town each month, planting trees across the county and equipping the people with skills on taking care of the environment.

Climate change is a reality across the world and Kenya specifically Machakos has received the consequences of climate change ranging from increasing temperatures to reduced rains among others.

The youth and women have been affected most by the consequences of climate change. The training will avail knowledge, skills and experiences to the youth on climate change and equip them with knowledge on how they can cope with impacts of climate change.

Climate change also presents opportunities for unemployed youth through renewable energy technologies, tree planting among others.

The youth have a big influence in the society and can be instrumental in conserving the environment and educating the society.
