Machakos County has been given the permission to host the Kenya Inter-County Sports games in November this year.

This was revealed by Machakos County Deputy Governor Engineer Francis Maliti during a sports stakeholders meeting that was held in Machakos.

The games will feature different sporting activities including football, hockey, netball, snooker and chess among others.

According to Maliti, the games will kick off from19th-26th November and will be held at the Machakos technical training grounds with football and netball games been held at Machakos Kenyatta stadium.

"Machakos is really the place to be. This year will be a beehive of activities and we are very proud to promote sports within the country," said Maliti.

The games according to Maliti will benefit the County so much and its a platform for business entrepreneurs to expose their businesses to visitors in the County.

This will be the 6th edition of the games since its inception in 2011. Winners in different categories will receive cash awards and trophies.
