Sri Lanka, one of the countries that have the best agricultural technology is set to help Machakos residents grow tea in lowland areas as they do it in their home country resulting in income for the farmers.
This was announced by Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua Tuesday after meeting the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Kenya and Permanent Representative to UNEP and UN-Habitat Mr Chulpathmendra Dahanayake.
The discussions also touched on Sri Lankan investments in Machakos County mostly in garments, cable and steel manufacturing plants.
It was also agreed that Machakos county will send some children to the Unicef Celebration of the African Child Day.
