Machakos business people on Wednesday morning were shocked following the death of a young boy who is popularly known in the town for collecting plastic cans for a living.
The residents were in their morning routine of opening their businesses when the Mulu Mutisya Garden cleaners found the body of the young man lying in the garden early in that morning.
After trying to wake him up, the cleaners noticed that he was not breathing and alerted people who were around.
Speaking at the scene on Wednesday morning, Machakos town Chief Estelo Muloki confirmed that indeed the boy was dead.
“The young boy was found dead but we still do not know the cause of his death as he does not have any injuries anywhere on his body. He was a polite street boy who is well known by many business owners and workers here in Machakos town and he has never been seen taking drugs,” said Muloki.
Chief Muloki said that they are still looking for information on where he is from as no one has claimed to know his home yet.
Police officers from Machakos Police Station arrived at the scene and collected his body which has been taken to Machakos Level Five Hospital Mortuary.
Police have stated that investigation into his death is being carried to know the root cause, technical examination was also carried out at the scene.
