The government has reaffirmed its commitment to developing infrastructure and equipping special needs technical training institutions across the country.

Principle Secretary for Technical and Vocational Training Dr. Dinah Mwinzi says currently the government is developing infrastructure and tuition blocks in 4 social needs institutions.

They include Machakos Technical Training Institute for the blind and Karen Technical Training Institute for the deaf which has been allocated Sh300 million each by the national government.

Nyang'oma Technical Training Institute in Bondo that offers courses for other disabilities is also among the institutions getting support from the government's initiative.

"Our target is to ensure we've education access and equity for all our children," said Dr. Mwinzi in Eldoret on Tuesday.

"We are committed and want to assure people differently gifted that the government will continue supporting them so that they also play a part in the country's development agenda," she added.
