The two got the information after a vehicle which went round the town announcing about the demonstrations and inviting residents was arrested.

Speaking to journalists after receiving the summon, the two have maintained that no any threat by the police will cow them down to stop the protests to push for the removal of the IEBC commissioners.

“What I want to tell them is, we as Machakos leaders are standing with our leaders. We are saying that for peace to prevail in our country, to have free and fare elections, IEBC commissioners must go,” Kiala said.

The leaders have vowed that they will continue with the protest and even take them to the rural areas until the IEBC commissioners are removed out of office.

The Women Rep also condemned police brutality in the protests maintaining that their protests are peaceful.

“Police brutality which is evident in the ongoing protests should not be seen, we should be let to air our grievances and let Kenyans know how Kenya is heading the wrong direction,” Susan added.

The leaders have urged police  officers in the country to stop being used to oppress the voice of the common mwananchi.
