Machakos Women Dr Susan Musyoka at a past function.[Photo/drsusanmusyoka.co.ke]The Machakos women rep is expected to be a tough contest as Dr Susan Musyoka seeks to beat candidates fronted by Wiper and Jubilee ahead of the August general elections.
The incumbent faces an uphill task after she opted to contest as an Independent candidate. Jubilee has fronted Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama’s wife Agnes Kavindu to dethrone Musyoka.
Kavindu has promised to give Musyoka a run for her money when that time comes. The outspoken aspirant has pledged to correct the mistakes that the current leadership made for the last four years with her main areas of interest being fight against drugs, empowering women, youth and disabled among others.
Kavindu has been accusing the incumbent of doing little to improve the welfare of the resident despite having being in power for years. On her part, Dr Susan Musyoka argues that she has given her best since she took over the role following the last general elections.
The lawmaker is banking on her performance scoreboard to retain her seat in the August general elections. The race has also attracted Jane Cosmas Ndeti (CCU), Francisca Mutinda ( Maendeleo Chap Chap) and Rita Ndunde Independent).
