Machakos County women representative, Dr Susan Musyoka has called upon the health Cabinet secretary to intervene into the doctors’ strike.

Speaking to journalists at Kyanzasu Village, the politician urged the CS to look for a way to end the strike. 

Machakos county doctors put down their tools citing different reasons including interference of the health sector by the first lady Lillian Ng’ang’a, poor working conditions and lack of transparency during job promotions. 

The women representative also supported the proposed change in the 8-4-4 education system as the national government fights increased cases of school unrest all over the nation. 

She asked Mailu to swing into action as soon as possible to the end tassel, which has paralyzed health services in the county. 

She expressed her concern over the worrying state of affairs of Kangundo and Machakos Level 5 hospitals.

“The outpatient department at Kangundo Hospital is completely deserted,” she said. 

Mr Stanley Muema, the medical superintendent opted to present his resignation last Friday. “We urge the Health CS to intervene,” said Dr Musyoka. 

She also pointed out that some of the equipment supplied by the national government to Machakos level 5 Hospital are not functioning as expected of them.
