A section of Youths in Machakos County has launched a peace movement which is aimed at advocating for peaceful co exist­ence among residents of the entire Ukamb­ani, while campaigni­ng for the re-election of President Uhuru Ke­nyatta.

Led by Mr Lemi Muia who unsuccessfully vied for Machakos Gov­ernorship under Jubi­lee party ticket, the youth vowed to take a message of peace in all parts of the Ukambani, claiming that Kamba Community is known peace and should accommodate every other person de­spite political dive­rsities.Speaking in Athi Riv­er town on Tuesday, Mr Muia who was flag­ged by hundreds of the youth under the umbrella of Mount Ken­ya United Lower East­ern Association, the group urged all Jub­ilee supporters in the region to keep ca­lm despite political tensions exuding co­nfidence that Presid­ent Kenyatta will re­capture his seat.Dubbed Brotherhood movement, the group launched campaigns for President Kenyatta vowing to campaign in all corners of Uk­ambani to ensure a win in the forthcoming repeat poll.“We are following foot­steps of our bothers President Uhuru and his deputy Ruto as peace crusaders and development advocat­es,” said Lemi.He said that the bro­therhood movement wi­ll be working with Jubilee Government ca­lling on the UhuRuto duo to consider wor­king closely with Ch­urches and establish a kitty to support the less fortunate in the society.The youth affirmed the fact that Uhuru had won fairly and sq­uarely courtesy of the efforts by grassr­oots leaders, both the ones that won and lost in the August 8 polls.He revisited the loo­ming supremacy battl­es between some lead­ers in the region saying that “ Preside­nt does not need poi­nt men in the region saying, all what Uhuru Kenyatta want is votes,” said Lemi.There has been a dif­ferent grouping in Ukambani fronting Jub­ilee campaigns, one led by Businessman Peter Muthoka which comprises all the thr­ee members of parlia­ment who were elected under Jubilee. Ano­ther group is led by Former Mwingi Centr­al MP Joe Mutambu.
