Bullish Machine completely dominated their hosts Catholic Monks from the start to the end before shutting them out with a resounding 32-0 scoreline in a match staged at Catholic University of East Africa (CUEA) grounds on Saturday.
At Mamboleo Showground Kisumu hosts Kisumu RFC took advantage of Western Bull’s fifth minute missed penalty to take three points lead with a penalty in the 10th minute, a scoreline that stood up to the break.
After the breather and only three minutes into the second half, Kisumu stretched their lead to 8-0 with an unconverted try before adding a second penalty later on but that was all for the hosts as visitors took up matters in their hands to score three tries with a conversation and a penalty for a spirited comeback 22-11 victory.
Nickson Nyandieka opened the scores in the 51st minute, captain Chrispine Shitundo went over the line in the 60th minute to see Bulls lead 12-8 after Dennis Ojiambo converted. Suleiman Odongo added another try to push Bull’s scoreline to 17-8 but Kisumu responded with another penalty seven minutes to time for a 17-11 at the 73rd minute but captain Shitundo raced to touch down his second try of the game in the 77th minute to seal off victory and cap a fantastic second half turn around of event that ensured a winning start to the campaign for the Bulls.
