Madaraka Market Traders Association Chairman Ephantus Ngari has expressed optimism in the ongoing case between the traders and another group, Soko Owners Group.
Allegedly, the latter claims to be the true representative of the traders.
Ngari, speaking at the market on Wednesday, a day after the traders' case started on Tuesday at the Milimani commercial courts in Nairobi, said that the case would resolve all issues that have been haunting the market from time.
The market was set ablaze late last month which occasioned the current case where the area MP Alice Ng'ang'a has been accused by Soko Owners Group of planning to rebuild and sub-divide the market to traders without involving the group.
"Madaraka Market Traders Association represents all the traders who do business at this market and that is why we've asked to be enjoined in our MPs case," said Ngari.
He added: "Yesterday more than 200 traders went to listen to the case in Nairobi being mentioned for the first time where we are optimistic that a lasting solution will come from. We are unaware of another traders' association."
Ngari who did not want to comment much about the case for obvious legal implications, however, said that rebuilding and sub-dividing of the market was a noble idea.
The MP has since been restrained by the court from interfering with the market affairs till the case is heard and determined.
