A Madrasa teacher was on Friday arraigned before a Mombasa Court to answer to charges of allegedly defiling a 13-year-old boy.
Nur Adan Mohamed, a teacher of Madrastu Alfahah Al Islamiyah in Likoni Mombasa County was accused of sexually assaulting the minor on December 5, 2017, in Likoni, Mombasa.
The court heard that on the diverse dates between May and December he unlawfully assaulted the 13-year-old boy.
Mombasa senior resident magistrate Edigah Kagoni heard that the minor is a student at the madrasa where the accused person teaches.
The accused was further charged with a second count of assault after he allegedly caused actual bodily harm to the minor.
The accused person, however, denied both the charges before the court and filed an application to be released on bail pending the next case hearing.
Magistrate Kagoni granted the application and ordered that the accused person be released on a surety bond of Sh100,000.
