Governor Alfred Mutua has refuted claims by critics that Maendeleo Chap Chap Movement Party is a propaganda tool.
Mutua says that claims by critics are unfounded stating that the Movement is real and aims at championing for development, democracy, peace and integrity.
Speaking at KICC in Nairobi on Friday during the Movement’s delegate conference, Mutua stated that the party is guided by political and social principles.
“Critics can say whatever they like but what I know is that Maendeleo Chap Chap is the people’s movement was aim is to eliminate poverty and create social cohesion,” he said.
The Machakos governor alleged that his opponents are out to tarnish the movement.
He, however, said that the movement will not be intimated by few selfish people, who he claimed have failed to deliver to Kenyans despite serving in government for years.
Mutua said that the movement will embark on a popularization tour across the country ahead of the 2017 elections.
He also stated that the Movement which has been registered as a party will field aspirants in the forthcoming 2017 general elections.
A section of politicians from Ukambani have been criticizing Mutua’s Maendeleo Chap Chap claiming that it’s a tool for propaganda.
The politicians are claiming that Mutua’s Movement is being used to divide the Ukambani votes ahead of the much anticipated 2017 polls.
