Machakos county governor Alfred Mutua has said that his Maendeleo Chap Chap party is a national party which will field aspirants for all elective posts in the coming polls except presidency.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader speaking on Wednesday during a live television interview on Citizen said that the party has taken roots in Kenyans politics.
"The party is now well known by Kenyans. Politicians are free to join the party since we believe in democracy and transparency", said Mutua.
He noted that he does not regret defecting from Wiper.
"I have no regrets after leaving Wiper. My aim is to ensure that the people of Machakos who voted me get well services under my leadership. It is not Wiper party that voted but people voted me and the same people will vote me in the August elections", he said.
He challenged politicians seeking political seats to join the party ahead of the coming polls.
