[Photo/Dr Alfred Mutua]Maendeleo Chap Chap Party says it will ask to be enjoined in the suit by the Attorney General Githu Muigai, opposing formation and existence of NASA's People's Assembly.In a statement by the party leader Alfred Mutua, MCCP said: "We will ask the court to declare that all MCAs who unconstitutionally voted for the Peoples' Assemblies to have automatically resigned.""Our position as a party is that; Kenya is not a banana republic. We have a working constitution. Therefore, elected leaders cannot turn around and by their own vote, surrender their role to the people and then continue to serve in office," added Mutua, Tuesday.He noted that the constitution was very clear and "if we are to progress to the 1st world we have to get rid of political impunity and arrogance and abide by the laid out legal guidelines."
