Speaking when he started building projects in six hospitals supported by the county development funds, Obugu said action shall be taken on such contractors.

“We have been paying contractors to work, but they do shoddy jobs and walk away with people’s money, but I want to warn that we shall take action against any contractor who does not deliver quality services,” he said.

“And the contractor we hired to build Kiabogesi Hospital has to re-do the work because it was substandard,” he added.

Among the hospitals the ward representative initiated include building projects at Eberege, Itembu, Rioganchi, Magenche and Nyabiore.

Obugu, who was in the company of locals from his ward during the exercise also started the building of nursery school classes in Magenche primary school and Kiabogesi primary school.

Cases of rogue contractors have been on the rise in the county, and at some point governor James Ongwae warned such contractors.
