Tanzanian government has refuted claims that Tanzania is working closely with Kenya’s Opposition team ahead of the August 8 polls.

This is after reports indicated the National Super Alliance (Nasa) team is planning to set up one of its three parallel tallying centre in Tanzania in order to monitor the upcoming elections.

Nasa insiders also revealed the other two tallying centres will be established in Nairobi and Germany.

President John Maghufuli’s government through its spokesperson has however denied having any elections links with Nasa and termed the allegations as “a mistake beyond reality.”

“The attempt to link the peace loving government of Tanzania with involvement in neighbour’s election is a mistake beyond reality,” Tanzania said on Twitter.

One of the eight presidential candidates in Kenya, Ekuru Aukot had also raised corncern over the alleged Nasa tallying centre in the neighboring country saying it is against the constitution.

“I am worried about NASA’s plans to set up a parallel tallying centre in Tanzania. It offends our condtittution and undermines our sovereignty,” Aukot noted, last week.
