Incumbent Starehe Member of Parliament Maina Kamanda has spoken for the first time on Thursday after Jubilee Party appeals tribunal ruled in favour of Charles Njagua in the contested Jubilee primaries.
Kamanda who had been earlier declared the winner in Starehe primaries said he will work together with Jaguar and he will not vie for the seat as an independent candidate as it is being reported.
He also conceded defeat to the popular musician-cum-politician and sid he will not ditch Jubilee Party.
"I will not contest for the seat as an independent candidate since that will split the Jubilee vote and grant the opposition an easy victory," he said.
However, Kamanda blame Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju and the National Election Board (NEB) for holding an exercise that was not credible.
He also claimed that there is double speaking in Jubilee going by the incident where former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth was trounced by Nairobi senator Mike Sonko in the gubernatorial primaries.
Kamanda said they had been advised by top jubilee honchos to campaign for Kenneth but when they did so they were also branded as the person working against the will of the people yet it was a directive from top party officials.
Another politician who accepted to support his rival is Kamukunji aspirant Simon Mbugua who said he will work with the incumbent MP Yusuf Hassan, the two were engaged in hotly contested nomination exercise where Hassan claimed Mbugua rigged.
