Former mungiki leader Maina Njenga on Thursday pledged his allegiance to the jubilee party barely four hours after joining KANU.
He made his decision after a five member committee directed the Jubilee party to pave the way for his political bid.
According to the tribunal, Maina Njenga was within his rights to seek nomination for the Laikipia senatorial seat and should not have been locked out of the elections.
Jubilee Party had blocked his bid for the seat citing issues with integrity.
The tribunal directed the party to accept the aspirant' s nomination papers unconditionally even after they argued that they had the right to reject the same.
Despite the confusion, Maina Njenga maintained that the re-election of the sitting president was inevitable and claimed that a new Moi era could be a possibility in 2022
