Former Mungiki Leader Maina Njenga has taken his political party Jubilee and the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to court in a bid to stop them from blocking his political aspirations.
IEBC and Jubilee had rejected his nomination papers for the Laikipia senate after police impersonator Waiganjo had been cleared to run for office. This has so far been declared as hypocritical by Kenyans across the country.
According to Citizen Digital, Maina Njenga through his lawyer Evans Ondieki produced an affidavit stating that he is not and has never been a member of the Mungiki sect.
He also claimed that he has spent over 100 million campaigning for the Jubilee party and was in turn harassed and pushed out of the nominations.
He alleged that the move by his host party was dictatorial, unreasonable and unjustified in an open and just democratic society.
