The Political Parties’ Disputes Tribunal is on Thursday expected to give a ruling on whether to issue an order compelling the Jubilee Party to accept Maina Njenga’s nomination papers for the Laikipia Senatorial seat unconditionally.
This is after Njenga’s lawyer Evans Ondieki moved before the tribunal after Jubilee party rejected the former Mungiki leader nomination credentials.
Ondieki had claimed that his client had already paid the Sh 250,000 as requisite fees among other huge sum of monies for Jubilee campaigns.
Njenga has accused Jubilee of infringing on his political right despite complying with legal requirements.
“The decision to reject my nomination papers on account of instructions from the party leader and his deputy is dictatorial, unreasonable and unjustified in an open and just democratic society, having accepted my registration and nomination fee,” Mr Njenga said.
Njenga has alleged that he spent over Sh100 million in marketing the outfit that will be used by President Uhuru Kenyatta for re-election.
